Cigar Bodega - Product Launch
As a photographer, I firmly believe in the profound impact of storytelling to forge connections with audiences. When Cigar Bodega, a Markham based brick-and-mortar cigar shop, approached me for a branding campaign, we embarked on the journey to document the essence of cowboy culture for a new cigar release. To ensure authenticity, we enlisted the expertise of a genuine cowboy for the shoot, complete with a majestic horse and set against the picturesque backdrop of a working farm.
Why The Cowboy Theme?
After meeting with the Cigar Bodega team and reviewing their current market identity against their industry, we decided that in a world where cigar smoking is often depicted as an elite luxury, we wanted to redefine the narrative.
Given the recent pop-culture fascination with cowboy culture, as seen in popular shows like Yellowstone, and the ever-growing rise of country music popularity, the cowboy theme has provided us with an opportunity to depict cigar smoking as accessible and relatable to everyone, regardless of their background, status, or environment. It's about celebrating the rugged charm of authenticity and the down-to-earth spirit that Cigar Bodega is known for.
The Approach
Through our cinematic launch video and lifestyle images, we aimed to tell a compelling story that resonated with the audience. These visuals have been integrated across all marketing platforms, serving as a powerful tool to communicate the brand identity and values. Whether you're a real-life cowboy or simply appreciate the charm of the Wild West, we invited viewers to experience the allure of the cowboy lifestyle and discover a new perspective on cigar smoking.
Extending Beyond The Web
In addition to the digital assets, we've seamlessly extended the branding efforts into Cigar Bodega’s physical space by transforming select images from the shoot into framed prints. These prints, carefully chosen to encapsulate the essence of the cowboy-themed branding, now adorn the walls of their brick-and-mortar store.
By integrating these visuals into the physical environment, we've created a cohesive brand experience that resonates with customers whether they're engaging with the brand online or stepping through their doors, fostering a sense of continuity and authenticity across all touchpoints.
